The Media Trust Ghana, is a not-for-profit, independent organization, established to provide capacity building for media managers, journalists and journalism students.
We are devoted to promoting excellent journalism standards in Ghana and beyond. Our work aims at using independent journalism to (a) foster a better informed society that can keep governments in check, improve national discourse, and deepen the practice of democracy, (b) Create awareness of the need for sustainable development, (c) throw light on underreported issues that are ignored by the dominant media, especially issues affecting the poor and vulnerable in society, who do not have the wherewithal to force their issues onto the national agenda.
In addition to our work with practicing journalists, we also work with selected students in three journalism institutions in Ghana, with the view to producing journalists who will seamlessly transition into the world of work and make an impact early in their careers.
To increase knowledge and capacity of media practitioners to promote sustainable development and strengthen democracy.
